OK, Got a demilled revolver, they call a parts kit from Every gun Part, LLC to use in restoring an older Model 31 no dash. It was advertised as a Model 31 (no dash) and came shrink wrapped on card board backing labeled as a Model 31 (no dash) . When it came I was busy clearing out some stuff before the holiday. It wasn't until 11/30 that I was able to take it apart and examine closely. The grips were for a round butt the barrel was attached to a piece of frame with 30-1 readable on it. The cylinder was not locked into the frame and the cylinder lock does not appear to lock into the notches on the outside of the the cylinder. The cylinder is short not a J frame length and possible short enough to be from a Hand Ejector. There is no evidence that any of the parts actually came from a Model 31 no dash.

My understanding is that a 31 no dash was an improved I frame and NEVER came as round butt.

I am not a professional gun smith nor a machinist but do love to restore a project. Can any one tell me if the barrel marked as a 30-1 going to fit in the 31 frame without either a sizing or threading issue before I separate it making it likely non-returnable? Next, is this type of performance typical for the supplier? Thanks for any help.
