I just completed the Front Sight Four Day Defensive Handgun Course in Pahrump Nevada. I used my new S&W E-Series SW 1911 SC with ~ 75 rounds down the tube (prior to the course). During the four day course I fired ~550 rounds of Blazer 230 grain FMJ. I also had to practice clearing type 1, 2 and 3 malfunctions. The course requires rapid fire double taps, often followed with a head shot. During the four day course I used three Wilson Combat 47D magazines with the two "stock" magazines that came with the gun. I experienced two type one failures (failure to feed) during the course, both were with the magazines that came with the gun and both cleared with a "slap, rack, bang"! Other than that, the gun performed flawlessly during the entire four days and 550 rounds torched down range! The S&W 1911s are GREAT handguns!!
