I recently sent an email to Froglube regarding the positive experience Ive had with the product and also to pass along the overwhelming amount of love their product enjoys in the blog/youtube/forum environments I searched prior to trying for myself. I recently received a response thanking me for the feedback, and I was amazed that it was from Larry Lasky, the founder of Froglube.

I really did not expect a response nor did I try to elicit one, I was floored that one came and it was from the top. It made me realize this company gets it, and they listen. When the big shots take the time to express their thanks, and do so in a fairly lengthy email, well it really galvanized the already favorable impression I had.

I thought I would share some snippets with the community here, because so many of you had good things to say about this fine product. Also, the email shared some details about their early challenges and future plans you may find interesting. I am not in any way affiliated with Froglube, btw. But I am convinced they will continue to provide outstanding products to the firearm community.

"Just so you know, we had an "original" version that was built to our first spec. The supplier who was making it eventually floundered and we started to see some variation in the batches. The first liquid version contained a petroleum 'carrier' which made it mildly toxic and flammable.

We changed suppliers and introduced the present version which has been out for over a year now. We increased the quality of our source ingredients, improved filtering, increased the mixing speeds in our batch mixers, improved the natural dyes and we built a solvent line.

In the future, we'll look at more narrow cleaning and maintenance products such as winter version, copper cleaner/lead cleaners, heavy paste for heavy weapons, and marinized formulas for high corrosion prone use.

The formulations are constantly checked and shooters shoot the batches to check performance where it counts; on the range. We are shooters who make gun care products; not a chemical/petrochemical company that makes products for guns. We have a lot of confidence in the performance which allows us to make a 500,000 unit donation to our armed forces on the front lines. We are getting rave reviews from those guys and has become a source of growing pride for us."

Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know some companys "get it."

I'd like to second that and say thanks for sharing that information. It's always nice to purchase from a company that shares the same interests as it's customers, rather than from one that is just out to make a buck. I've only been using Frog Lube for a relatively short time, but from what I've seen so far, I'll continue to use it on all my guns. My local gun shop also does gun repair, and they have switched entirely to Frog Lube on everything that they work on.

I was a little hesitant because I am somewhat new here (since purchasing my fs 9) and didn't want to come off as some froglube pr guy. But I was really impressed by the response and probably wouldn't have tried fl had it not been so widely favored here. Glad you enjoyed the info.

I too am in the testing process. Kimber Ultra CDP II and XDm .45 are the first.

Lets see, a product that works great! smells great! supports our troops (& probably saves lives)! Is made in the good ol USA!! Works 4 me!!

It is an amazing product. I'll never use "conventional" cleaning products again on my firearms.

Not looking to rain on anyone's parade, but has anyone ever seen a negative review of this product? I picked up some Froglube about a week ago and plan to start "Froglubing" all my guns very soon.

Okay I have a negative review. I used Frog Lube on all my handguns, and on my Advantage Arms .22 conversion slide for my Glock 30, it made the barrel so slick the recoil spring assembly won't stay in the detent in the barrel. It just keeps popping right out. I may have to remove it from that one spot. That's about as negative as I can get. I haven't had a chance to do a lot of shooting after applying FL yet, so . . .

I've been using FL on all my weapons and have had zero issues with it. Works on everything from my Shield to my Sporting Rifles. Makes everything easier to clean, the smell won't drive you out of the house and it's even food grade safe.

Not many, but im sure theres some people out there that dont like it. I was amazed at the amount of great reviews it had when considering it. Its not some magical substance, and there are other fine products, but its up there when it comes to clp. It came highly recommended to me, and i highly recommend it having tried it.

Question to all you FL lovers...Is there any difference in the liquid...the paste...the spray? What do you use for what? Jim

That sealed the decision.

I was on the fence. I have a lot of excellent lubes right here, some are rather new, like a huge jug of Breakfree CLP, and some Weaponshield. I was going to wait until I get lower on some of these before I ordered FL.

But now I'm ordering it. If the owner is that good, I'm in. ;)

Been a FL devotee for quite some time now. Mostly because my wife likes the way it smells so she'll help me with the cleaning process.
