Expert’s opinions on 629 engraved revolver

Does this appear to be factory engraving? Asking for a friend. Opinions appreciated. No engraver signature can be seen.

In the dark recesses of my mind I remember that S&W had three levels of engraving A,B & C with A being full coverage. That looks a lot like the factory full A engraving to me.
Mind you this is a WAG based on past memories but I'd bet a hamburger I'm correct.

If not factory it looks very nice to me. There are real experts here that I am sure will chime in shortly. Either way - nice gun.

Yes, that 629 will most likely letter as factory engraved. It appears to be one of the guns engraved in Italy (in in the late 1970s and early 1980s) under contract with the factory.
