Yesterday I ordered a Mitch Rosen Upper Limit Express holster for my new Shield Plus. I really like the express line of holsters, especially the short wait times which is normally about three or four weeks.

This morning I get a notice that the holster has shipped with a tracking number, it will be in my grubby hands early next week. They must be making popular models in advance or I just got lucky. Either way, I'll take it.

Now I need to find some 9mm ammo...

Same holster for both. You can really see how the belt slots conform with use. You get a piece of paper warning against wearing the holster empty until it breaks in, otherwise the gun may not fit.

Mitch Rosen makes some good gear, though I have yet to get any.

How's the stability with such a high-riding holster?

With a good belt the butt of the gun rides nice and tight against your side, does not feel top heavy at all. Worn at about 2:30 or 3:00 the straight draw is fast and easy IMO.

My Rosen Upper Limit is just right for Shield 9. I've worn it several years!
For a little more robust holster (for Shield 9Plus) or one for the M&P9C which has more top weight than Shield 9, Ryan Grizzle makes the High Country that is excellent. Very secure and hides well. On the RGrizzle website it says 10 degree cant, can be ordered straight pull as well.

R Grizzle Leather has some great looking designs. Thanks for the tip, I need to give one a try soon. Those knifes and sheaths.... wow!

I'm a Rosen fan, and just ordered another 5JR last week. Was perusing his site again this morning and saw that he now has some videos. In one of these he explains that the Express line holsters, while less expensive than his regular line because they have less labor intensive boning, retain the gun equally well.

That is to say, Rosen frankly states the extra price for the regular line is for the cosmetic value — "some people like it; I do" — of the extra boning. (Hey, I like it, too!)

In the past 15 years I think I've purchased five 5JR holsters directly from Rosen, and one Workman Slimline in the classifieds here.

I like Rosen a lot. I think the Express line is a great value.
