F-4 PHANTOMS AT TURKEY'S MACH LOOP

That’s one of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen, and some of the still pictures are unreal! When the jet comes really close to the spectators at around the 2:40 and 3:07 points, it was nuts! You could hear one of the spectators gasp in the first one and they all ducked during the second one!:D I wonder who’s pictured on the tail of that one plane? I liked the “Hi Mom” at the end. I noticed that one of the photographers was wearing ear muffs, the others must be wearing ear plugs because the sound must be deafening I would think! Thanks for sharing.

The F-4 Phantom is one of the most enduring airframes ever developed. First flown in 1961 they are still in service with some countries today. Simply an amazing testimony to their durabilty, utility, and capability.

Great video, what a hoot it must been for the pilots at the controls as well as the folks on the ground!!

Just sent this to my stepdad, he spent a little time around them…

It was said to be proof of an amazing aeronautical principle: that “a brick can fly if you stick a big enough engine on it.”

Five days a week I have the privilege Driving past one of the old Bergstrom AFB RF4C on static display at Del Valle high school.

One of my employees from long ago flew rear seat in an F-4 during Vietnam. He had lots of interesting stories.

Needless to say the F4 is my favorite military A/C hence my screen name. The avatar is a trap shot to the USS Coral Sea CV43. RIO's... radar intercept officer, were often teased with nic names eg.. TB...trained bear...GIB guy in the back etc.. but all in good humor with the utmost respect. You could stroke the burners and set rate of climb to 30K plus and she would just keep on going.:D Probably one of the best F4 drivers was Randy Cunningham, aside from his post mistakes, he's still on the top.

While an old F-4 Phantom may not "fly circles" around the F-16s, F-15s, F-22s, and F-35s of today's generation aircraft, it sure as heck would outrun them.
