Made a trip "behind the cheddar curtain" last week.
On the way back, near Rhinelander, I saw a fabulous 1957 Ford
Thunderbird. Key Lime pie color and looked perfect to me.

If I was dreadfully rich I'd have one of those. As it is, I didn't notice it
till I was heading into the station after fueling up the car. It was gone
when I came out so I didn't even get a picture.

Dad had a yellow Ford convertible when I was a sprout. Not a T-bird but
still a cool car. He sold it to a young kid when we left the country in
1955. I often wish he had managed to store it till we got back.

That car made an impression me. We were driving through the West,
toward Washington state when dad had to slam on the brakes. I pitched
forward slamming my head right into the radio. Helped to make me a
Ford man, I guess. (Although I am currently driving a Dodge and a
Pontiac. Go figure!)

Hey, you were getting pretty close to my neck of the woods - an area known for great muskie fishing as well as some good cheddar...!

Great time of year because there is always a car show going on somewhere, and you get to see them all driving around on the road (where they belong, not on a trailer).

Had to force myself to look away from a beautiful deep blue 1967 RS Camaro convertible that was displaying a "For Sale" sign - I didn't trust myself to look closer.

I saw a red 1957 Thunderbird on I-71 south on my way the Cincinnati from Columbus. Detachable hard top with port windows. I'm not too jealous. I have a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback. Springtime yellow and black interior.

I saw a roadster from the 20's or 30's on the other side of a
divided highway on the trip too. Red and shiny.
Just got a brief glimpse and I don't know enough to tell what
make it was at that distance.
