FOr years I have had facebook for the occasional lurking and for my wife. Now all of a sudden every time someone posts something, I get a notice on my phone. DOes anyone know how to stop this??

I joined FB because of their gun groups, but was never able to join any and never posted. I deleted my account a few years ago, after account info was hacked.. The Mrs. uses FB and Pinterest regularly. She’s been forbidden to post photos of me or my stuff.

Don't know how fb interacts with phones, but the clicking on the 3 little dots on the right of a post gives ya some options.

While there are many problems with fb, for some of us it is the main way we keep in touch with distant families. Especially if ya ain't married with a wife maintaining all the family contacts/arrangements.

I don’t get any alerts Gary. Not that I know how to turn them off.

I find no better way to keep in touch with old friends and co workers.

Lots of forum members, mostly ex, are on there. I need to catch up with them.

We share Drew as a mutual friend.

Gun manufacturers, pro 2A groups, car enthusiasts, etc have a presence.

I’d love to hear how the Lounge, and other contentious sections here are so different.

On your phone Settings>notifications scroll down to Facebook. Turn it off

The only group I am aware of is the veterans group.

A good place to check for forum info is in the various stickies atop the Lounge.
