Okay all, I'm very satisfied with my M&P 40 police trade-in I received a few weeks ago. Only issue I'm having is with the night sights that came on it.

So, I'm looking for a set of factory OEM 3 dot sights to have installed. Have looked at MidwayUSA, Brownells, S&W.com, ebay, etc. No one seems to have them in stock. So I would appreciate help in locating a set (front & rear w/set screw) for my M&P 40. New, used, doesn't matter; as long as in good condition (for used).

All help appreciated. The standard 3 dot sight system works very well for me and are easier for me to pick up when shooting than the night sights. Thanks in advance! :D

I'd take a look at Trijicon HD's they are better than a 3 dot because they force you to focus on the front sight. If you want 3 dots try Dawson Precision.

ATF, I have looked at the Trijicons, TruGlow, HiViz and a few others. What I need is the 3 white dots when I sight the pistol. Some of the sights listed above have white outlines around the tritium inserts, but not sure how that would compare to standard 3 dots. Also not sure I want to spend $150-$200 on replacement sights, when an OEM set should cost around $25.

I missed a few sets on E-bay a few weeks ago, but was really trying to give the night sights a go. They're accurate enough, I just have a hard time picking them up during sighting/firing at the range. :( I will give Dawson a look/see-thanks!

You should have looked at the skematic section at Brownells. Both in stock, these are Brownells part numbers for the factory sights, not S&Ws. I forgot the set screw for the rear sight, you'll have to look that up.

Front sight 940-000-965WB
Rear sight 940-000-980WB

Many thanks! They had all 3 pieces in stock. FYI, the rear site is 940-000-981WB for standard sight. 980WB is for night sight.
The set screw # is 940-000-341WB.

This place and it's members are the best! :D

In the course of developing my line of sight pushers, I have had occasion to order sights from S&W CS several times. They have always sent them out at no charge. Not that regular sights cost all that much, but still very nice of them.

My excitment was short lived. When I got order confirmation this morning, the rear sight and set screw were out of stock! So they are shipping just the front sight and still charging me $7.99 shipping! I called to cancel and the girl told me once the order went to the warehouse, it couldn't be changed or cancelled. I asked why not, since it hadn't been shipped and she said their system wouldn't allow it.

Pretty upset at this point with my first order/experience with Brownells. Wouldn't have placed the order if all 3 pieces weren't in stock! :-(

I agree with the posters that advised you to call Smith and Wesson. One even said they've sent him sights for free more than once.

I've called Smith and Wesson to order small parts 3 times and each time they've sent them to me for free! That's great customer service!
