Well it finally took a good time getting here but late Fall finally arrived here, in Reno Nevada this 10/20/2020 at 9:46 am in the morning.

How do I know this as a fact?

Sitting in my chair at my PC, enjoying this site, I was startled by the sound of.....................

the Heater coming on for the 1st time in six months.

Now that I think about it, we have not used the A/C unit in a while...........
and I just picked the last two tomatoes of of the bushes and pulled the bushes up and put them in the garbage container.

How time has flown by.......
it will be Turkey day in almost a month's time.

Best wishes to all.

Global Warming! ND is on track to get 1 to 3 inches of snow today - that's a week later than last year.

Looks like the low temp. here on Sunday will be 29 degrees.

Elevation makes a big difference. Reno at 4400 v Bastrop at 870 v here at 2800. Upper 80s to lower 90s here, but in a few days (next Monday/Tuesday) we're forecast for highs in the low 60s and lows in the upper 30s.

Signs are subtle here but I’m happy to see them. Temperature tops out in the mid to high 80’s instead of mid 90’s. Fronts stall and bring days of rain. It’s 72 at dawn instead of 82. I’ve heard and seen a couple of kestrels and the turkey vultures are here with more on the way. Any day now a pair of painted buntings should show up on our feeders. That’s fall in South Florida.

Here in the East Texas we had a few days of fall like weather. Then another front came through and felt pretty good. But the warm gulf air reclaimed us in, like just a couple hours.
Man, I would really like some cool air.:(

The SW has had a stubborn high pressure system that won't move and has been dominating our weather for weeks, if not months. As a result we're getting higher than normal daytime temps.

I've even seen a tree blossom like it's springtime!

But these winter migrants showed up, Juncos.

They're probably wondering why it's so warm.
