I took my nephew out to give it a shot today. It was a chilly morning but bearable. He has only shot military pistols during his AF career and never spent any time behind a wheel gun. 10 out of 40 on his first round.

I don't relate to IHMSA "Field Pistol", back years ago when I shot Silhouette it was either 22RF (to 100 meters) or Unlimited out to 200 meters) or NRA Hunter Silhouette. Irregardless, it was all fun, and I wish I still had a club active in my area. I did make it up to class AA in RF, and to class A in unlimited production. Still have a handfull of those little chicken, pigs, turkeys and rams pins around here somewhere. Great fun. When I shot IHMSA was all iron sights and NRA was scope/dot permissible.

H R....Come on down to Augusta..l am close to THREE monthly matches.. First Friday l go to Gainesville Ga ... Field Pistol there for CF and 22RF..Second weekend is Patrick SC for BigBore,FieldPistol,22RF...Then Fourth weekend at Lincolnton Ga..BB, FP, 22RF....I know it's a demanding schedule and there are other things to do here... Over at the Augusta National they shoot "GOLFS" there....My SMITH&WESSON isn't too welcome for golfs, so l just stay home that Sat

Looks like you had a good day for it. I have been cleaning and rearranging my reloading shop and came across a stack of my IHMSA score cards from matches that I shot in Arizona, back in the 70's and 80's at the Rio Salado Sportsman club in Mesa. I shot the 200 yd standing production class with a Ruger SBK in 44 mag for years, then switched over to a TC contender in 7mm TCU. I also found a envelope full of the little hat pins that they awarded for 5 and 10 straight on the chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams. I thoroughly enjoyed those matches, and I learned a lot about the capabilities of my guns and loads as well.
