Interesting article, thanks for posting. As production holsters go, IMO, Galco have the best fit and finish.

Galco also has a YouTube video running, from which those stills were taken. Even more informative in 'moving pictures' such as their hand detailing with no presses used to form their holsters.

I have been a big Galco fan for as long as I can remember

Being born and raised in Chicago I actually found them over on Western Ave when they used to be called the Famous ******* Leather Company

A wallet was what I bought on my first visit, I truthfully cannot recall what the first holster that I bought from them was for.

Right now I have a 4 drawer file cabinet full of leather that is probably 60% or 70% from Galco

One of my favorite Galco holsters is a horsehide OWB for my early 3" Colt Defender .45 ACP. I actually used them when I attended a personal defense pistol course at the American Police Hall of Fame (Titusville, FL).

My first leather holster was a Galco. Very good quality and no lead times. I would like to try one of their shoulder rigs someday, as a huge Miami Vice fan. I doubt I would look as cool as Sonny in one, though.

It's on their website and quite interesting. Lots of high end manufacturing going on. It would suck the joy out of leatherworking to sit there all day doing one operation for 8 hours.

Galco is an example of way over-finished edges, as far as I'm concerned. Obviously, 99% of people don't give it a thought (or maybe prefer it). But to me, it looks like plastic so it might as well be plastic.
