I bought this Goldenboy in .22LR NEW looking at my local shop, It was on consignment for $350. I got it for $325 OTD, I was impressed at the smooth lever action, Way smoother than the other Henry's I've shot and owned.
I bought it out to the range and was horrified that it grouped, Well Not grouped, But all shots landed withen two FEET at 50 yards from a rifle vise.
I returned to to the shop I bought it from, on the 20th of April... I looked at the rifling and the crown and they were perfect to my eye.
Well It was back in the gun shop on the 27th of April with a new barrel.
Shot it again and it's GREAT ! !
I am very impressed with the turn around time,
But not with the 2' collections when I first got it, I guess I now why someone had consigned it, They couldnt hit the broad side of a barn from the inside...
I am happy and would buy another Henry with knowing about the GREAT customer service !!!
Just wanted to share.

Pred,
Just curious.. look on the barrel.. was this rifle made in Brooklyn N.Y. or New Jersey.. Henry just completed the move from Brooklyn to New Jersey.. I'm wondering if it was a "Last" run in Brooklyn or a "First Run" in Jersey... you arevright about the smoooth action best I'vre ever tried..

I have had a Big Boy in .45 Colt for a few years. It has been a very good rifle. The action is smooth and it has been 100% reliable and it's accurate. It has endured lots of shooting at SASS matches and has held up well. Henry Co. is a pleasure to deal with and has excellent customer service.

Great lever guns. We own the .22 Golden Boy, .17HMR & the .22 Magnum. Many, many rounds fired with next to no problems. A few bad rounds, no lever gun problems. Buy Henry with confidence.

I dont remember what the original barrel said, But the new one reads Bayonne NJ.
I have a .22 big handle carbine. Also a great shooter.

I won a new Henry 22 lever action at a gun show raffle a couple of years ago. When I picked it up at the gun shop, there was a nasty ding in the forearm wood that was not there when I bought the ticket, so I called the Henry factory to order a new forearm. Even though I told them it was damaged from mishandling after it left the factory, not only did they refuse to accept payment, there was brand new beautiful perfectly matched wood delivered to my door step three days later.

Henry has some of the best customer service I have seen. Every time I have emailed the company, the President himself responds. Very impressive company, and the guns and all parts are made in the USA.
