I'm thinking about finding a good ccw shoulder holster for a 3" 696. Would mostly be used while fishing or hiking around in woods. Sometimes revolver hip holsters dig into me. Any suggestions and/or pix (I've heard Andrews works well, but thought I'd see)?

I have three Andrews pancake holsters. Highly recommend his craftsmanship and product.

Do you have one of the Monarch shoulder rigs?

Any other suggestions? I've added a 3" 686 to the headline since more people have 686's than 696's!

Rather than a shoulder holster as we commonly think of them, I would recommend a "Tankers model" rig, several holster makers have a version of their own: El Paso Saddlery, Mernickle, and Simply Rugged.

A harness is used that puts the gun out on either the left or right side of chest, and makes it handy when fishing or out in the brush.

Thanks. How well do they conceal under light cover garments or jackets? I'd like to find one that will also work as a daily ccw holster too.
