I picked up 4 boxes of Federal 115 grain 9mm 50 count for $9.97 at Walmart and no limits.

The only catch was the casings were made of aluminum.

Curious, has anyone fired aluminum through their Shield? If yes did you experience any issues?

I don't reload so I am ok with aluminum if it feeds through my Shield.

I've bought alum casing from time to time and never had a problem. Some indoor ranges don't allow them, so I don't buy unless it was a superb deal.

My local indoor range doesn't allow steel or aluminum cased ammo (they sell the brass to reloaders), so while Federal (in general) has been reliable in all my pistols, this is pretty much a No-Go for me.

Not allowed at my range (recycling), and on the forbidden list of my H&K owner manual, so not really practical to buy. Saw it arrive the first time at my WM last night.

I picked up 5 boxes the other day figuring one of my 9mm's could use them. They had 25 boxes on the shelf. Checked with my range that evenning and they said aluminum cases were no problem, so I went back the next day to get 5 more boxes...all gone! LOL They did however, have 100 rd boxes of the Federal with brass cases on sale for $24.95. I got 2 of those. :D

Just fired a box of these through my SD9VE-no problems at all! My local WM only had the one box in stock. They also have 45acp for $14.97, only problem is, the bullets can be pushed back into the case with finger pressure! I had this same problem with the brass case Federal Champion, so I won't buy any of it-too much concern with over-pressure caused by bullet set back.
