Is anyone using this ammo in their 9mm Sigma? The specs look kind of good for in the home defense situations. Its an expandable FMJ round.

It's the same bullet that was marketed by Federal as the EFMJ. It's been used as, and still is, a duty round by the Detroit PD and it's one of the few rounds that are approved for use by civilians in New Jersey. It's had very good results in actual self-defense situations.

But... they are light for caliber in comparison to the EFMJ.
Guard dog 105 gr.
EFMJ 124 gr

Just curious as to why you would prefer the EFMJ to a good hollowpoint, do you live in NJ?

If you are fortunate enough to have a carry permit you are ammo restricted in NJ. Contrary to popular belief, sale and or possession of hollow points in and of itself is not illegal.

Hollow points are not illegal in NJ, however if you use them in the commission of a crime or possess them during the commission of a crime it is an additional felony charge. For home defense they are legal. Good luck trying to get a ccw permit in the PRNJ, the only way that happens is if your retired leo or politically connected due to the requirement of having to prove a justifiable need.

BTW I haven't fed any down the pipe of my 9mm but have out of my 40 and 45, light recoiling and as accurate as any other factory load.
