My daughter inherited a nickel M-38 Bodyguard.

I'm concerned about using plus P ammo in this Airweight gun.

I'd suggest the Federal Chiefs Special Nyclad load, but don't know if they still make it.

Do you know, and have you ever shot anything animate of any size with it, like a coyote or feral dog? Describe the results if you have, please. I'm guessing that it's fairly effective, and may actually expand some at the relatively low velocity, about a nominal 825 FPS from a snub barrel.

I use the nyclads in my chief special I am told Federal still has the order code up for it. That demand is so high they cant produce it fast enough. I am not sure if its true just what I have heard.

I also use https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=110 as long as the gun has the old school style rifling it should be safe to shoot it. The new micro groves get leaded up and case issues.

That Buffalo bore load is the old FBI load so there is plenty of real world data on it.

I called Federal recently to ask where I could buy Nyclads. They said they are currently out at the factory but anticipated making more sometime in Feb. That was before the current panic buying of ammo of all kinds so this might not be their present plan.
