I love a nice Straw Fedora (sometimes called a Panama I believe?). I have 2 and another Porkpie that I wear as soon as it warms up. I have had them all for several years now, the Porkpie is more of a beach/lake hat for me, but one of my Fedoras is what I wear when I dove hunt/pheasant hunt. I feel like it connects me back to a different time, not sure how or why since I dunno if Guys ever really wore them upland hunting, but I enjoy it and I feel it makes me look classy. I found one today for my son that I was excited about! Anyone else a fan of Fedoras out there?

My son wears a black & gray one everywhere...a family friend wore one like it, & so do the saxophone players my boy emulates...he could want to wear something much worse, like a "Hope & Change" ball cap!

Why, sure. Here is a much-abused Borsalino that gets a lot of use this time of year.

This one's from Orvis. It came to me from a friend who had bought it for her husband a size too large. A year later, she didn't feel right about returning it, so she asked me if I would wear a blaze orange fedora.

Don't ask me why this one posted sideways. It's right side up on Imageshack.

I love fedoras. I have about 12 of them in all colors from
black, gray, brown, white, and a straw one.
I never leave the house without one.

I inherited my Father's brown Borsalino fedora. He bought it in 1950, from JC Penny. It has his initials in gold leaf on the inner sweatband. It's a perfect fit for me. The felt has gotten soft over the decades.

I also have a black fedora made from beaver fur felt that I bought about 25 years ago. I can't remember who made it, offhand, but it's very nice.

Stetson Open Road and a Stratoliner are the fedoras I wear in cool weather. But I like something with a little more brim. I have a couple of Stetson Gun Clubs that get the call more often than not. Not sure why I equate snow with Western hats but those are the ones I wear when I am on the shovel. One of my favorite straws for summer came from Pendleton years ago.

wildenout, great photo of you and your son.

Stetson Gun Club and Stetson straw here.

Pendleton Outback for the winter, boonie in the summer.

Same here, though I wear a ball cap on occasion too. I don't have a straw fedora, yet, but do have a black one I wear very rarely for a dressier look. I really should get a Louisville Bats ball cap--our AAA baseball team, the top farm club of the Reds.

I've had my Pendleton for over twenty years. It's beginning to look it, but is still going strong.

Mines 6 or 7 years old, developing some character, gets more compliments than any piece of headgear I've ever owned.

LOL "Good Hat !"

I am prone to fedoras, western hats, outbacks, Chromers, ball caps etc. I wear my 8 point or campaign hat depending on the department whenever I get out of the car. I am going the pick up a panama this summer and much to my wife's horror, a boater. The boater should go nicely with my 03 Colt hammerless.
