"I feel more and more like I've outlived my time if that makes any sense."

That is one way to look at it.
I am not old, but I feel like a outsider.

Are you asking if I've seen one of Schwartenzenneger's, Yes spelling error he can afford a good "merican name like Schmidt, terminator machines come back from the future? Maybe.

I been on the outside looking in. Gives a unique perspective on everything.

Apparently my ethics, my sense of responsibility,my belief that you are entitled to what you work for and earn are now alien and derided concepts with many of the residents of the Country.
Jim

Jim, no offense, but I think you meant to say Planet instead of Country. And what about DUTY. I've heard it said that we (the Boomers) have been the most fortunate of all generations so far, and that is probably true for those of us who have been born and raised and lived in N. America, but we are also most probably the last generation to have ever known true freedom and meaningful opportunity.

Do I ever feel like a stranger in a strange land! I was actually talking about this with my elder son just yesterday...

When I was born in Baltimore, almost exactly 63 years ago, there were almost a million people living in the city, and it was just a nice place to live. Serious crime was rare, the city was clean and safe, unemployment was low, etc.

Now, Baltimore is home to about 600,000, and is one of the most dangerous cities in the USA. The neighborhood I grew up in is a slum. The city is filthy and trash litters the streets. While the tourist areas, such as the Inner Harbor and Fells Point, are nice for the most part, violent crime can, and does, happen anywhere at any time.

My town is well northeast of Baltimore, and many of my neighbors are folks who moved here from there, fleeing the crime and violence in and immediately around the city...

When I really think about it, I want to scream... :(

More like a passenger on a grand ship that is slowly sinking.
and myself and the other passengers are praying that the Captain and crew can stop the leaks.
The ship company is trying to find a replacement Captain, hope they find a good one and get him helioed out to us before we go down.

The waters are definitely full of sharks.
