Finally found a M46

Estate sale yesterday. Picked up a M46 7” barrel in the original box. Not perfect condition but probably a 90%. The box had blown out corners but I can repair that. Came with an ugly set of Plastic grips. I put a set of M41 grips I had on it. Question, did the M46 come with the same grips as the M41?

Congratulations on your find. I have one myself in 5 inch. The model 46s came with a Reddish colored Resin/Plastic grip. Originals show up once in a while on ebay.

So, maybe those plastic grips in the pictures are the original grips?

They might be the original but the set you put on are much nicer.

Mr. 52, those ugly plastic grips are probably the original factory grips.
Just an economic move by the factory. I have a anew 46 that is phenomenal.

The plastic grips in you picture are not original to the model 46. The originals are the same shape and checkering pattern as the wood 41 grips but they are made from a reddish / maroon plastic.

I think the plastic grips in the box are the originals, just sanded down and striated Bubba’s Best. Too crude for any manufactured replacement.
