So, I posted a WTB here last week, and a forum member here contacted me, stating he had one he'd be willing to part with; I won't mention a name or handle just in case he doesn't want to be identified. The great thing is, he was local. After stellar communication, we chose a date to meet (last Friday).
It goes without saying that he was just a great guy and an absolute pleasure to meet and talk with.
I've finally gotten around to taking it out and cleaning it a bit, though it didn't require any, really. He said he'd never fired it. Looking it over, I have no doubt that's true; it is a true specimen and as mint as I could've ever wanted. Enough of my rambling: without further ado, some pics of my newly acquired 625-6 Performance Center V-Comp. I just got some extra moon clips from Ranch, so I will be following-up with a range report.

Thanks colt_saa and Chuck!
I purchased some Culina grips so I can keep the stock ones in original condition. While taking them off, I saw on the butt (bottom) of the frame MKD0166. Is this the serial number or just an alphanumeric way of saying it's number 166 of 168, or however many of these were produced in '99? I assumed S&W placed the serials under the yoke (which this pistol is designated #273). Anyone know or care to venture a guess?

Nevermind. It's the serial number (from the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson).
