End of a build.

20 gauge Flintlock. It is a 24" smooth rifle. Drawn file finish in the white, folded brass rear sight, turtle front sight. 12 and a half pull length, keeping it period correct.

Mounted a leather and hemp sling this week.

gizamo, did you build that yourself, or was it in kit form? No matter what, I'm impressed. Sir that is neat and you should be proud of the outcome..

old bear,

It is unique.... I have another breached barrel, am starting a new build as we speak. New barrel, pictured...above.

Very nice!
Who's bbl and lock did you use on it.
Is the bbl sold that short or did you cut one of the longer ones back.

I thought about making one but haven't the time now. Too many other projects going.
I have an English percussion single bbl shotgun to put back together and try out.
About 14ga(?) guessing ,, it's a .704 bore.
Should be fun.

I like the piece of wood you used,,just the right amount of figure/grain & color.

Outstanding my friend! And thanks for all those throwaway leaves from the hemp plant!;):D:eek:

Nice job!

2152hq,

The stock used was a old one. It was cut down to build the gun. Barrel is unknown. Fella at a gunshow had several breeched barrels for sale in a 24" length. The are high quality tapered barrels octagon to sixteen flats, then wedding band to round. I believe they were Colrain. I have one barrel left. Thinking of building a NorthWest trade gun with it.

Lock is a L&R English roundface....
