Someone brought a box of old and poorly stored ammo to the range to and left it on a table. I collect old ammo boxes, so I sorted through it. I found this box of Fiocchi 9MM Long Shot. It obviously been poorly stored by the look of the cases. It is a rimfire ammo and seems to be No. 8 Shot. First I had ever seen. It will go on the shelf. Any info will be appreciated.

They are 9mm rimfire shot shells. It is also know as "9mm Flobert". I have an Anschutz bolt action that fires these shells. The guns are know as garden guns in Europe. Winchester also made a 9mm single shot the model 36. Fiocchi still manufactures the 9mm rimfire (Flobert).

i also have a 9mm garden gun made by Voere in Austria.i was curious about this round for years.
it came without an extractor and i actually got someone to loan me an
anschutz extractor which my gunsmith made a duplicate of since they are unobtainable.
its subsonic and very quiet would be great for small pests in the backyard.
midway has the ammo from time to time for $60 per 50

I have a Winchester 36.. It was owned by a fellow that used it to train his employer's Setter bird dogs..It was used to get them used to the sound of shooting over their heads. He used to shoot pigeons around the barns on the farm...It really is very quiet. I shot a round of skeet just singles. Broke 17
