I like Fiocchi.
I've fired a few boxes of its .38 Special in 158 gr. Full Metal Jacket (FMJ).
It feels more powerful than standard 158 gr. loads in the same caliber.
It may be made in Europe; the Europeans tend to load their ammo a little to a LOT more powerful than American companies.
The Fiocchi ammo is good stuff: accurate, reliable, clean burning and goes bang every time.
I don't know that I'd carry FMJ .38 Special ammo for defense, unless I figured I needed to penetrate car windows or doors.
The U.S. military surplus .38 Special FMJ ammo is a 130 gr. roundnosed bullet at about 800 fps from a 4" barrel.
I carried it 30-plus years ago as a USAF Security Policeman. Older sergeants who had used it in combat swore at it. The 130 gr. FMJ is weak.
One sergeant told of shooting at a fleeing car in the Philippines four times: three bullets bounced off the trunk, one bullet failed to penetrate the rear window.
Wish we'd had the Fiocchi stuff back then. If you MUST use FMJ bullets in your .38 Special, it's probably the best readily available.
