What is up with the gun photos that contain not only a picture of the gun but include a watch, knife and/or flashlight? Are we supposed to be impressed with the added items? I just don't get it. Do the same posters put a gun in their photos of their knife on a website dedicated to knives?

It is fluff to prove that we are not only gun-nuts. Don't you see a knife or light and get curious as to what it is? I like the pics with more than just the gun as I like to accessorize.....Think of it like this......Fine (loved) items go with fine items........Do you have only individual pictures of family members or do you have them pictured together, maybe with a new dress for the dance or a new car? We like to show our stuff off. Post some pics of some of your favorite guns with something else you cherish in it..........Sprefix

You mean like this?

The reason for this inclusion of a Raven .25 is to illustrate the size of an Uncle Henry lockblade knife. It is a small knife with rosewood handles. If you know how small a Raven MP-25 is, then you can see how small the knife is, as compared to the gun. Kinda like putting a quarter beside a small item to show comparison. Plus, I like to impress everyone on the forum with my taste in knives, and firearms:eek:
Have a wonderful holidays, from the Smith family.
Peace,

Some people like looking at the pictures in The Standard Catalog of FireArms,,others like thumbing though old copys of Shooting Times.
Everybody has their preferences.

I don't really know...Why I do that.:)

Must be some kind of de-fish-ancy...

I certainly love looking at gun photos and I do not care what is in the photo other than a gun(s). However, I am into guns and not knives. It has long been my understanding that a person should never bring a knife to a gun fight. Why the fascination with knives is something I do not understand. Sure, different people have different opinions and desires but knives for whatever reason appeals to quite a few.

I own one knife and have cut myself with it at least four times and it stays in my desk drawer. If someone wants a photo of a Black Diamond switchblade, I will be glad to make a photo of it.

You mean like these? I hate that too! I have even more than these! Wanna see em?

Why should things be so bland?

Nothing wrong with a few well chosen and well places background accessories to show off one photographic skills. I'm actually a bit jealous of these shutterbugs!

Oh, I don't know...Take this one for example that I did for a friend of mine.

Although loosely based on his now famous "tightly woven berber", it gives the viewer a "softer" feel with stunning texture. It makes the subject matter "POP" right into the viewers Cerebral Cortex. Thus leaving them with an unforgettable, pleasurable viewing experience!

I hope now you will understand more of the "conceptual aspects" of the photographers meaning behind the gun photo's of which you speak.

I have an idea. Remove the knives and let a nice looking lady hold the guns. That would appeal to the interests of many here.

Some like to use imagination, creativity, symbolism, perspective, and contrast in their photo composition...

But it's obviously lost on some folks.

Maybe that's why some people enjoy steak au poivre...
