What firearms forums do the S&W forum members frequent?

Is there a comprehensive firearms forum directory available?

I have looked around a bit and found a few sites that have some links, but nothing comprehensive, so if any one knows of such a directory, I'd like to know it.

As for other forums, the only other one with which I'm currently registered is ar15.com. For reasons not fully understood, I've developed a late-in-life lust for a black rifle.

While there are some good forums out there, most of them are pretty poor compaired to this one. At the risk of sounding like kiss up, this may be the best firearms forum around today, for a couple of reasons.

It is well designed, well administered, and moderated with an even hand. The rules are reasonable and they are enforced.

The people who post here either know what they are talking about or are trying to learn (and most here fall into both catagories). While every once in a while someone will hit a nerve, the people I have followed on this forum usually treat each other with respect and good manners. That is not the norm on the i-net.

That's my take, anyway.

I have been a member of several 1911 forums, Rimfire Central, the High Road and the Firing Line forums. This is the only forum I belong to anymore. Sorry I don't know of any comprehensive list of forums.

This forum and Sig Forum are the best. The rest are rather mediocre, although I do visit Ruger Forum, Colt Forum, The High Road, and Firing Line on occasion.

I'm on a couple of private forums, Colt Forum, and look in on Stephen Camp's forum, Defensive Carry, and Gunboards.

Some of the other firearms forums are simply too large and unwieldy.

I've long wished for a really good general purpose rifle specific forum. I'm not into cast bullets for modern metallic rifle cartridges but would like to participate in general rifle discussion.

Also wish there was a vibrant, active forum for U. S. military firearms, British firearms, and Winchesters. There's some that touch on such topics and even some that specialize in models within these topics but they aren't too active.

What I'd really like is a good "Push Boat, Tow Boat, and Barge" forum."

Military Surplus Collector Home Page is good one for military rifle`s and
bayonets,almost any thing military.

What Texas1941 Said.....

He said it all, regarding this forum. I visit and belong to other forums, but
they all seem a little "unfinished". Haven't found anything to compare.

In addition to this one I am a member of the Colt Forum and m1911.org. I also sometimes visit the Remington and Sig forums but am not a member of either.

You can do a Google forum search for just about any brand and find a related forum.

I occasionally go to elsiepeaforum.com, glocktalk, ruger, colt and rimfirecentral forums. One visit per week will suffice to get caught up with most of them.

This is by far the best forum I have found. I come here at least three times a day and there is so much new every time. I usually peruse the active threads on the home page and then go to the lounge. I have learned more here than all the rest combined. For some reason the colt forum is a very lonely place.

I have learned that it is probably best for me to refrain from posting in the political threads though. My comments seem to sometimes be too extreme for the moderators to tolerate. I will save them for the political/activist forum that I frequent. That's not the primary purpose of this forum anyway.
