Beauty! I've always loved Tavor's aside from the trigger. Doesn't agree with me for some reason. Beautiful gun!

Congrats & welcome to the club!

Owning an AR-15 makes it very difficult to rationalize buying other traditional layout 5.56 rifles. SCAR 16, Bushy ACR, Beretta ARX... none of them did anything 100% better than my AR-15's. The IWI Tavor was different enough without the negatives of the other bullpups. Whenever I go to the range, I ended up grabbing either my Tavor or the AR-15 I assembled myself. The S&W M&P 15 just sat in the safe. I sold it. No more M&P 15 sub forum for me. LOL

My single gripe with the Tavor is the stock trigger pack. Paying premium $$$ for a rifle and then having to dump another $350+ on an aftermarket trigger pack blows. I removed the extra return/reset spring from the OEM trigger pack and the trigger is more stock combat AR-15 trigger like. I'm good with it for now.

Dude. I just sold my tavor but you make me want to buy another...

Thanks John, love the FDE. I actually flipped a coin in choosing between the FDE and the black. Store had both, I should have bought both! lol

RE: Tavor trigger, I read a lot about it before I ever bought/shot one.

My only trigger reference in a 5.56 rifle is my 1979 Colt M16A1 that I bought in '02. I did replace the original LPK with brand new Colt M16 parts installed by a Colt armorer. I got so used to the military trigger (heavy) that now on AUTO I can pull singles and doubles. With a 24" target upper and a 16x scope in SEMI I can get sub MOA with match ammo... all with the OEM GI trigger.

So my first trip to the range with the Israeli I was prepared for disappointment... but I actually liked it. Now I will try the remove-one-spring "fix" since it's free. I do believe that if I had installed one of the many after market precision trigger systems in my Colt and had been shooting it for the last 13 years I would have a different opinion of the Tavor trigger.

When I bought mine, I wanted a FDE 16". The LGS had a black 16" and a FDE 18" in stock. I prioritized color over barrel length. I'm a bit glad I have the 18" barrel.

Removing that spring made a big difference to me. Enough of a difference that I don't have any urge to drop $350+ on a third-party trigger.
