Went to the range this morning with two new S&W's. One was a new M&P Shield in 10mm and the other was a FPC. The FPC is a hoot! I tried ammo from 90 gr hp through 125 swc handloads as well as store bought ammo and everything fed, functioned and hit center mass. Next time I take it out, I'll try a suppressor on it and see how it handles and functions.

The only complaint is the trigger. It has a take-up that includes a "first" click, then more pressure releases it. It's consistent, just weird. I'm hoping the aftermarket comes up with a fix but if not, it's still a keeper.

The first click is the safety blade dragging on the trigger. Try pulling straight back avoiding placing a side load on the safety blade and think of pulling the trigger as two steps…disengaging the safety blade, then pulling the trigger.

I was not aware that S&W was making a Shield in 10mm.. Did this just come out? I have a 4.6 and I have seen photos of the comp model..
M&P 2.0, not a Shield - brain fart on my part. It has been out for a while. Look in the M&P section and you'll find several threads on it, some not overly kind.

They’re more than a hoot, once you get good with it, they go through ammunition faster than Zsa Zsa Gabor went through husbands.

As far as an aftermarket trigger is concerned, don’t get your hopes up just yet. Even though one outfit is working on one, you’ll still need a competent gunsmith to install it. You ain’t getting the rifle down to than component on your own until someone demonstrates it. There’s one issue blocking you from doing it. Muck that up and you’ll definitely need a gunsmith.
Be patient….that particular answer will come….maybe…..S&W hasn’t even released Gun schematics diagrams yet.
Welcome to the FPC club.
