This is my first post so please bear with me. Has anyone tried the new Model 640 with no internal lock? I like the idea of no lock, cut for moon clips, and night sights.
I've never shot a 357 Magnum Model 640 & I'm curious about the recoil. I'd be using Federal 125 grain JHP.

Just wanted to say Hi. I'm new to this forum but not to S&W. I own a 686 and a 3" model 60 that my wife used for a 4 day defensive handgun course at Frontsight. (She beat a Border Patrol agent who was using his duty gun in a one on one competition. ...not that I'm bragging. Who says a J frame isn't accurate?)

rg9350,I have a 4" 686-3 pre-lock with Hogue Monogrips. Nothing fancy, but I'm proud of it. I like the 2.5" 686+ and hope to have one someday. That extra round could come in handy.
deralte, I'm in North Carolina, too. Asheboro. The Greensboro Gun show is August 28-29 (I think). Looking forward to it. I haven't missed one in years.
