Recently purchased a Airweight 442-2 (w/o internal lock) for pocket carry when circumstances don't accommodate carrying my Glock 19. I love my new J frame and the Glock is getting jealous!

I love the silver 642, but went practical, as I think black guns are less likely to be noticed should someone be in a position to get a little glimpse.

I've only been to the range once with my new friend, but enjoy target practice with the J frame much more than I thought. Accuracy is going to take some work, but I'm looking forward to getting to know this great little revolver with the help of the S&W forum.

One thing a forum member mentioned semi recently in a thread about snubs for carry is that with the 642, if you have to pull on someone at night, it will be easier for THEM to see that you are indeed holding gun.. and not just holding up your hand... interesting point which I never thought of.

Interesting point USAF385...

Dirty Harry would say, "The BG will know I have a gun in hand when he hears the big bang." :)

iCarry would say, "Hmm...never thought of that. I need to give that one some thought, but I guess it comes down to one of those choices--would I rather have my pocket gun be obvious when pulled in dim light or be more discreet in a less than perfect concealment? No "right" answer, but interesting question"
