not a bad rifle. picked up the MOE and had 3 FTF out of 500 rd's. used some Fed bulk 550 and Fed AE22. one of the AE22's case exploded from the rear sending piece's into the wall.(sorry don't know the correct term) have no idea why? when i flicked the spent case out part of one side at the bottom had a hole in it? maybe a little to much powder?
other than that i had a great time and can't wait to go back.
anyone know of any kind of mag loader out yet to move that button down? my finger is some what numb from moving the button on the mag down. that would be a great accessory.

Sounds like you have an out of battery discharge. I seems to be common with these rifles. I haven't had one yet and I'm hoping it stays that way. I would check your extractor to make sure it's still in good working order.

Did it look something like this?

yes, but only half as bad. do you know what could have caused that?
i fired a few hundred more round's after that, but have never seen this before, and
didn't think about breaking it down to see if something was wrong.
the rifle seemed to operate ok until i left.
thanks for that photo.

It happens, as long as no damage is done clear it and rock on.. but make sure its fully cleared oobs can leave a bullet in the barrel.. these guns r kind of know for this.. but just be safe and enjoy

It's caused by an OOB discharge. Out Of Battery. The rifle fired while the cartridge was only partially in the chamber. The usual result is the extractor is blown out of the rifle rendering it inoperable. A free trip to and from Smith & Wesson is the solution.

Dirty chamber, dirty ammo, etc are some of the causes. "Blue springs" may or may not be another part of the solution.

This is the most frustrating issue with these rifles, but S&W seems to be doing their best to cure it. Keep the chamber clean. If it happens again contact S&W.
