I have located a Fluted long taper sight adjustment tool for sale for $100. I have a 1959 model 14 with correct box but I am wondering if this would have been the correct screwdriver(sat) that it came with. The price seems a little steep but it is the first one of this type I have found for sale ever. Seems the 9 row blued version is much easier to find but they still run close to that price too.

Perhaps I am reading your post incorrectly.....are you looking at a fluted or knurled SAT? The Standard Catalog indicates 1958-61 for the knurled handle; 1961-64 for the fluted handle. If your gun is from 1959, it seems you need an SAT with a knurled handle.

The sight screwdriver with the fluted aluminum handle and flat blade was introduced in April/May of 1960. A revolver shipped in 1959 would have a sight screwdriver with a knurled aluminum handle and flat blade. Do you know when your revolver actually shipped as serial numbers can be misleading when it comes to actual shipping dates?

Here is some of my collection of Sight Adjustment Tools. You can see the one your asking about. It's on the bottom in the center. The two pre-war tools on on the top.

Thanks for all the help. The gun has serial is K363892 and I got it with original grips and box is era correct but serial written on bottom starts with a C. I have since added grip adapter.
