That's insane. I'm glad I sold my 5.7 and replaced it with an RIA .22TCM. I can load for that at about 25 cents a round with current component prices. And the pistol is way better looking!
Edit to add: I just looked on GB and I'm seeing 50 round boxes of .22TCM going in the range of $35-$40 a box.
That price doesn't completely surprise me for a cartridge like that. I came close to picking up an FN 5.7 several times in the past few years, kinda glad I didn't.
Thats not as bad as 12.7 x42, only one supplier on ammo seek, Midway at $4 a round. Tempting to sell the boxes I bought just a couple months ago for about $1.50 a round.
Around 2004 or so Midway USA was selling 2000 round cases that worked out to $16/box, shipping included. I bought 2, with a half case left. I shot my PS-90 a lot.
