My local shop had a nice looking FNS40c in the case. It was advertised with 3 mags and I was told they would take $300 for it. They also had .40 ammo in stock so I bought it.
It came with the case, all 3 mags, paperwork, and extra backstrap. The spent shell is dated 2015. All the mags look unfired, they're clean as new. I may have picked up someone's safe queen.
I've had good luck with FN pistols in the past. I'm hoping this one will be good too.

Very nice, especially nowadays when gun store shelves are bare and deals are harder to come by.

The FN40 was among the many guns I was considering as my new carry gun early last year along with similar pistols in the same price range. (FN40, SD40VE, SR40, etc) Ultimately I ended up with a SW40VE which I found at my LGS LNIB for $199, but that was largely due to the price being too good to pass up.

Congratulations on the excellent buy! I purchased a new FNX 40 right after the 2012 Election, as there was a rumbling of another magazine capacity restriction coming up for a vote.

The 3 magazines that FN was providing with each gun was certainly a deciding factor, but moreover was the quality of the firearm's build (even with a poly frame). I've always enjoyed shooting the .40 S&W, and the FNX turned out to be quite accurate, and soft shooting for the snappy cartridge.

You did extremely well on the price too. I believe mine was just a tick under $600 when I bought it. Well Done!

Had the FNX 40 out today, and this thread is really short of pictures. (the wife was in the hospital for a couple of months & I got bored, thus the gold lettering) :-)

Sounds like an excellent deal. We have a FNS40 and an FNX in 9mm and they are great pistols.

Thanks. Since yesterday I found out pre-2017 FNS models have a recall, but it is a real questionable situation.
I also found out that CDNN has the 14rd mags for $19.99. I can use them with the spacers.
Finding a good used pistol at a good price in the stores these days is just luck. You gotta buy when you find it.
Correction, their price is $14.99, but they want $9.99 for shipping.

Picked up a NIB FNS-40c last year at Euro Optics in PA for $299.00. Same as you describe. They were, I was told, Police contract over-runs, or for a contract that fell thru, depending on who you asked. There were a few distributers who had them, but I don't see them around anymore for that price.

I was not really in the market for a new .40, but I figured a new FN for 3 bills was a no brainer. Found out about the "Vollentary Recall" after the purchase (possible striker block issue), and returned it to FN on their dime. Got it back in about 2 weeks with a new striker. Told a couple friends about them, and they went out a bought one too.

Have put maybe 5 or 6 hundred rounds thru it now, mostly Federal 180 FMJ, and it has been flawless and accurate, shooting dead to the sights. A lot of gun for the money, especially with todays jacked up gun market.

Amen!
I've never bought in to the "I'll never own a Tupperware gun." argument. Folks that believe in that are missing out on some fine firearms. FN is a prime example. My FNX 45 Tactical is a superb pistol. Despite its polymer frame, it is built like a bank vault, and it has performed flawlessly for nearly 8,000 rounds. It is so accurate with its Vortex Venom red dot, that I have stopped shooting it at less than 20 yards because it quickly blows a hole in the center of the target, and what's the challenge in that? With its three 15 round magazines of .45 acp goodness, it is the perfect home defense pistol for me.
