I was over at the gun club today at lunch and they had a new M&P 45c in the case. I've been looking forward to this model for a while and this was the first I'd actually seen one.

Initial impression is that it is quite a bit larger than what I was expecting. Overall length is about the same a 1911 commander with a beavertail. Overall height is close but it is a little bit shorter. It's very close in proportion to my Sig C3 which is a 1911 with a commander length slide on an officer length grip frame. I was expecting something closer in size to a Glock 30.

Trigger pull was about the grittiest of any M&P I've dry fired yet. For me the jury is still out on this one. It is quite a bit larger and a little heavier than the compact 9mm and .40 versions. The grip did feel a little short, but it had a flat baseplate on the magazine. The pictures that I have seen of them have a finger rest extension to the magazine. I didn't think to ask at the time if it was similar to the other M&P compacts that come with one of each. Du'oh!

I haven't seen one in person yet. Sure do like my 9c for carry (and to shoot). If the 45c is comparable, a swap may be in order.

I also have held a 45c. Yes, they do come with a flat and finger rest extension. It would have came home with me but price even after trade in was out of my budget

I picked one up last week. $549 plus tax

Yes, its a little large than other compacts, but a 45 is bigger than others anyway normally.

Have only put a couple mags through it, but recoil was much less than i expected and easy to shoot. I thought the trigger was much nicer than the springfield xd's, and at least as good as a glock. Biggest thing though is that the shape, angles, etc of the M&P's are much nicer when you hold them than other black pistols.

I havea M&P45 compact. To me it is the best M&P pistol yet.The 9 and 40 compacts were to little and the fullsize 45 was rather large.Great pistol, conceals well,is accurate andrecoil is not bad at all.

I fired one last week, it shot very well. It'll be my first M&P, when I get one.

The M&P 45 compact I bought recently is my third M&P and it is truly a keeper. Mine came with night sights and 3 mags with the pinky extension and it behaves like the perfect carry pistol. My full size 45 is my night stand gun and my full size 40 get carry duty, too.
