We had a few posts this week from members who are fans of an actress named France Nguyen. One guy said his wife still resents his interest in the actress, who was active in the early 1960's. I don't know much about her or when she last acted. The name looks Vietnamese to me, but this series was made years before the US became embroiled in that country.

Her fans should enjoy this episode of, Hong Kong, where she guest starred. I used to love this ABC show. It was on opposite, Wagon Train on NBC and most Americans preferred the Western to the more sophisticated show set abroad. So, Hong Kong lasted just one year, from 1960-61. It starred an Aussie playing an American (Rod Taylor) and a Canadian (Lloyd Bochner) playing a Brit. One episode had a Finn (Taina Elg) playing a Swede. And she played a German in a favorite movie, Watusi. I'll have to look up Miss Nguyen's background. I'm only vaguely aware of her. My knowledge of girls back then was more on the order of those on, The Mickey Mouse Club. It was about this time that I discovered a famous magazine with a centerfold feature at my uncle's place and began learning more about girls and how they're constructed. I still haven't figured out how to understand them much of the time.

Anyway, enjoy the episode. I don't think anything here will violate a Rule. The show aired in prime time in 1960...pretty conservative days...

Understanding women fortunately, has never been a prerequisite of enjoying them! Just when I think I have a handle on the one I've been married to for 39 years, she will completely baffle me! (and she is logical)

I sort of remember seeing her in movies several times. IMDB has a lengthy profile. Her filmography (TV and theatrical) is extensive and extends over a 50 year period. Even though French, her father was Vietnamese, not too surprising as Vietnam (French Indochina) had been a French colony for many years. She had been married twice, her first husband being Robert Culp.
