With all the recent legal turmoil about so called gun show loophole etc. I have a question about listing muzzleloaders for sale on the forum. Previously ML were exempt from shipping to FFL requirement . However in view of recent event and not wishing to get in trouble with the Forum or in any legal predicament are modern bolt action muzzleloaders still exempt from the FFL requirement. I have 2 I am considering offering for sale but want would like to stay on everyone's good side before listing. I have seen several on GB that require FFL shipment.
Thanks for any help

I'd ask that question of an FFL or a lawyer. The moderators probably don't want to give you legal advice or they'd have answered you already.

I don't think that a Forum listing changes anything. You'll need a decision from someone thoroughly familiar with the rules.

Or use FFL to FFL and don't worry about it.

I am NOT a lawyer, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Not exactly, it was The Adolphus Marriott in historic downtown Dallas. A quick search on a hugely popular sporting sales website "hi I'm Larry, and that's the way it is…" shows that any break action muzzle stuffer can be sold and mailed directly to the buyer's house. Now a Remington short bolt action muzzleloader is shown as needing to be shipped to an FFL which actually surprised me. It's not like the rate of fire from this bolt muzzleloader is much faster vs. the others. My $0.02

So that is my suggestion - check several vendor websites selling what you have and read their rules and regulations for states, etc. They have lawyers making sure they are compliant.
