Sold Pending Funds: I've had this gun for about twelve years. I found it in a small town pawn shop that has since went out of business. In 2011 I finally had it lettered by S&W. Mr. Roy Jinks states it shipped from the factory on October 10, 1964 to Robbins Air Force Base. The original "Jinks" letter will go with the gun. The box is an original S&W box but unknown if it's original to the gun; probably not but I don't know. I'm not a professional photographer by any stretch of the imagination so if there is a part or portion of the gun that you want to look at other than what's posted PM me with an email and I'll try send you pics of your photo request. Condition of the gun IMHO is excellent for a 51 year old military weapon. The overall finish is in fantastic shape but has honest blueing loss on both sides at the end of the barrel and some on the high areas of the front frame. Also some finish loss only on two opposite sides of the cylinder; which in my opinion is from riding in an unlined military holster for most of its life. The case hardened target hammer and trigger color is well defined and in great shape. The stocks are in fantastic condition so I tend to believe that they were added later; although they appear to be period correct for the gun. Mechanically its also in excellent condition; timing is on and locks up correct and tight. Cylinder has very minimal end shake. The barrel has well defined rifling and clean as a whistle. I have removed the side-plate only once to check for any rust or corrosion, which there was none; lightly lubed the internals and re-installed the plate. I would love for this gun to go to someone who carried one and shot one while in the Air Force but the first "I'll take it" followed by a PM will get it. I'll offer a three-day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period upon receiving it. I'll doubt it'll occur once you see this gun but if returned the shipping & insurance will be on you. A full re-fund will be sent back once the gun arrives back to my FFL and a satisfactory return inspection has taken place. Since I'm not an FFL holder make sure your designated FFL will accept a shipment from me; only in the lower 48. I reserve the right to deny any sale to anyone if your State has highly restrictive gun sales policies in place. Sorry in advance, but I like to keep things simple. $1450.00 shipped. Bank Cashiers Check or USPS Money Order only.
