What's the difference from turpentine?

Mostly the concentrate of 50-some herbs and the sugar. The rest is neutral alcohol that probably also goes into paint thinner :)

Random tidbit: the stuff hit the market in Germany in the mi-1930s at about the time when Hermann Göring reintroduced the rank of Jägermeister (master hunter) to the German forestry service and appointed himself "Reichsjägermeister". So the drink became (unofficially and out of hearing of the Gestapo) known as "Göring-Schnaps".

Jagermeister mit Red Bull!! Had so many of these in der Deutschland back in the day, good times!!
