For the John Wayne expert

I too am a BIG JW fan. Thanks all for some very interesting memories. He was probably the greatest man in American western movies. He was a man to be admired and revered.
I am going to watch my favorite JW movie:
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence

Interesting that Faulkner mentions above that Tom Selleck might be the next John Wayne. Tom, his brother and Tom's body guard are regular attendeees at the Las Vegas Winter Antique gun show, as Tom is a serious collector of western memorbelia and old west firearms. My table partner and I have sold Tom a couple of guns, and educated him on what to look for, etc. in the types of guns he is collecting. Tom Selleck is a much better actor than John Wayne, as he can do drama, comedy, etc. as well as portray a John Wayne like image, as seen in " Quigley Down Under." Tom is an admirer of Wayne and my impression is he has the same character as Wayne and is a true American. Ed.

Ed I envy the fact that you had the privilege of knowing someone so inspiring to many generations.

Of all of JW's movies I think I liked "Big Jake" the best. I have always found it interesting that most of his characters had an Irish last name.

I do like Tom Selleck, however I think I might lean more towards Sam Elliot as the modern John Wayne, even though my wife would leave me in a heartbeat for him if she could
