I love this truck. Bought new October 2016.

2016 XLT in Blue Jean. Definitely made it it a bit more aggressive from the 1st time I posted it here.

Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit.
Fuel Neutron 20x9 (1mm offset) wheels
Nitto Grappler G2 275/60R/20 tires
Gibson exhaust system
K&N cold air intake
93 Octane tune

Close to 400 BHP from a 2.7L V6.

....and found a 1959 (birth year), Florida (home state) license plate with my initials (WW) in it.

Great looking truck! Mine is a 2015 and is still stock but, the ride, comfort and gas mileage keep me smiling.

Until the last body style change, I drove Pathfinders but, my all time favorite SUV was my 1987 Bronco XLT with a 302 engine. The F-150 is now my all time fav.

Nice truck! I also have the big eco-boost in a 2013 model. I'm sure you know, but that neat Florida license tag is sittin' smack dab in the middle of the place where that eco-boost is getting it's breath. Just going normally down the road, you get a forced air induction effect as you move into the air, and then when you shake out your whip and spur those pony's into full action, that "air dam" will make a difference in the amount of air easily available for those horses!

I declined to put a bumper guard on mine after mentioning this to the owner of my favorite mechanic shop here. He also owns and eco-boost and I fully trust his judgement. He recommended that I not put anything in front of that breathing hole to restrict movement and entry of air to the engine.

Not raggin' on you here, just passing along what I was told, FWIW. Did I say that is a NICE rig you've got there? It's beautiful, and I admire what you've done with it. But I hafta say that my truck will get me in more trouble as it stands so I think I'll keep it that way. Wouldn't mind taking a ride in yours though!! NICE!

Man they're making these things beefier and beefier looking. Looks sharp but also somewhat bloated. How many square feet is that cabin? :D

I always liked the look of trucks from the 80s and 90s. Especially Toyota, when it was simply called a truck

I have a '13 EB also. That hole under the grille is for the charge ail cooler. The engine draws it's air from the wheel well.

What's your problem with K&N filters?

Simple physics. There are only two ways to increase airflow. One is to increase the surface area of the filter, in other words, make it bigger. The other, K&N's approach is to increase the size of the holes in the filter material. While the latter will increase air flow, it also allows more dust and dirt into the engine. If you don't plan on keeping a vehicle til the wheels fall off, then you won't have to worry about excess oil usage caused by worn piston rings. I wouldn't consider buying a used vehicle if I knew the previous owner had used one.

And before someone jumps up and says "I used one for 1,000,000,000 miles, let me say that I had an uncle who smoked his whole life. Until he died of lung cancer.

Nice truck, but friends don't let friends use K&N filters. Especially if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time.

It is fairly easy to oil and wash a K and N filter using its recharging kit. I will admit that this is the 1st time using a cold air intake on a specialized engine like the Ecoboost but I have had zero issues using K&N products on multiple vehicles over many, many miles.

Nice vehicles, all of you!!

I traded my '01 F350 powerstroke on a '14 F150 ecoboost crew cab..........towing package plus a few other goodies. Very nice truck, plenty of interior room, not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound like the F350 was, very pleased with it.

FWIW, I wholeheartedly AGREE with the general negative opinions of the K&N filter system. AIR and OIL are the two most important life-sustaining elements in a gasoline (or diesel) engine. Don't skimp on either. There are reams of research data comparing air filters. Do some reading, and then remove the K&N.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a closer look. I do know that the air filter takes it's air from the wheel well. When I initially looked at a smaller front bumper guard (not full coverage), none of this model was listed for the Ecoboost model. The ones listed had a solid piece across the opening in the center of the bumper between the uprights and there was a specific warning that this model was NOT intended for use on the Ecoboost models since it decreased the air flow through that opening.

Nice looking rig. I've always been a Ford guy and love the 302/5.0L engines. Funny how things come full circle sometimes. Hopefully there will be a 7.3L powerstroke in the future again. Several guys at work have the Eco boost setup, all have been pleased. Enjoy.
