Smith & Wesson Forum Guidelines

Welcome to the Smith & Wesson Forum—a community dedicated to the communication, discussion, and appreciation of all things related to Smith & Wesson firearms. Our forum exists to foster a respectful, knowledgeable, and engaged community around shooting, collecting, studying, and enhancing the Smith & Wesson experience.

Purpose:
We aim to share and support each other’s passion for Smith & Wesson firearms. While we value robust discussion, please remember:

• We will not change the world here, nor will we resolve every societal issue.
• This forum is not for converting others to your beliefs or opinions.

General Conduct​

1. Civility First

• Conduct yourself as a lady or gentleman. Civil discourse and courteous behavior are expected at all times.
• Avoid personal attacks, name-calling, or insults. Disagree respectfully.
• If a member annoys you, use the "Ignore" feature. Do not feed trolls.
• Report any disruptive or offensive posts to the staff.

2. Content and Language

• No nudes, "girly" pictures, or avatars featuring such images.
• Obscene, vulgar, or lewd language or images will not be tolerated.
• Creative spelling of offensive words is also prohibited.
• Homophobia and gratuitous sexual references are not allowed.

3. Respect for Diversity

• Racial and ethnic slurs of any kind will not be tolerated.

Restricted & Banned Topics​

Banned Topics:

• Abortion
• Religion
• Racial issues
• Gay rights, homosexuality, and gender topics
• General LEO bashing
• Political discussion and commentary

Note: Second Amendment issues may be discussed only in the designated 2nd Amendment forum, following its specific rules.


Restricted Topics:

• General news links should be posted sparingly. We are not an Internet News Index.
  
  • News about military, first responders, or firearms may be acceptable if relevant.
  • Gun-related political news belongs in the 2nd Amendment forum.
  • Bare links with no explanation will be removed. Always provide a summary.
• Video links must be reasonable in both content and number, and free from excessive profanity. Bare links without explanation will be removed.
• Chain emails are not allowed.

Additional Rules​

4. Respect for Public Figures

• Do not post threats, implications of harm, or wishes of misfortune toward any elected official.
• Derogatory or crude names for government officials will not be tolerated. Refer to officials by their proper title, last name, or initials (e.g., "President," "Trump," "DJT").

5. Copyright and Fair Use

• Respect copyright holders’ rights.
• You may post up to 250 words of a copyrighted work, with proper credit and a link to the original source.
• Always attribute the original author or artist.
• For photos and videos, the same principles apply: credit the source and provide a link.

6. Auctions and Sales

• No links or discussion of current or upcoming auctions, even indirectly, without permission.
• Links to closed auctions and ads are permitted.
• Only Vendors may promote their auctions in the Vendor Forum.
• All sales or trades must be posted in the appropriate classified ad section.

7. Signatures

• Limited to 30 characters and two lines.
• No URLs, email addresses, or ads without prior approval.
• No political statements or references to banned topics.
• Signatures must not insult other members.

8. Photo Albums

• Public albums may only contain gun-related content. No "Babes with Guns" or similar content.
• Private albums must meet the same standards as public posts.
• Violations will result in loss of album privileges and/or banning.

9. Forum Structure

• Post in the correct forum. Staff may move or delete posts that are in the wrong place.
• Non-Smith & Wesson gun discussions belong in "Firearms & Knives: Other Brands & General Topics."

10. Advertising

• Do not advertise or promote other forums, blogs, websites, or YouTube channels without prior permission.
