I was working on my gun cabinet today and was looking for a way to put my AR & 15-22 mags in safe storage that was easy to access. I had already bought some Closetmaid bins to push through my pegboard, when I dropped a mag it it ALMOST sat in there perfect. After bending the upright bars in at their middles (As seen in pics) the magazines sit in there perfectly. The Pmags sit in there upside down, the M&P15-22 mags sit right side up. These bins were CHEAP and work perfectly! :)

Cool, but why are the magazines empty? :D

NICE! Well, the mgs are empty in the pic as they just got sat in there. There are now one of each loaded, the rest are empty. I figure if I need more than that, I have other issues :)
These only come white as far as I can tell from my Closetmaid rep. I dont see why you couldnt just lightly spray them black or dark grey. I plan on painting the pegboard grey as well, or maybe white...high gloss white... hmmmmm

Dammit, now i need to figure out how to make a pegboard fit on my safe door.

Buy 2 pieces of pegboard and cut to equal size. Buy some sticky back 2" velcro. Buy a bunch of small washers equal to hole sizes of the pegboard. Connect the 2 pieces of pegboard together like a sandwich using stacks of the small washers between them and small bolts holding it all together. Space these out between the 2 pieces (at each corner, a few along the edges, a few down the centerline). Apply velcro to the back of the pegboard and the safe wall. The gap between the 2 pegboards that come from the stacked washers gives space for the peg items to fit into the holes.

Just 1 idea.

As Wylie Coyote from the classic Warner Brother's cartoons would say:
"Sheer Unadulterated Genius"!

You da' man MDoffRoad...
I've gotta make me some of those.

I currently have my AR mags stored in the longer .50cal ammo cans (the kinds usually used for demolition fuses, mortar rounds, etc...), laid sideways on the shelves of the safe. I figured these cans are easy to snatch and have everything in a bug-out type of scenario, but having a rack or two of loaded mags handy for super-quick response is a great idea too...
