Hey guys!
I was extremely lucky on Saturday at NGD in Louisville to find an excellent condition pre-war grip adapter with the original grips attached. These look to have been taken off when new and stored for the last 90ish years.
I've been looking for an adapter a couple years now since the SWCA documents I received states it as shipping with one attached even though my factory letter states it shipped with magna grips. I assume that's just an error somewhere since the correspondence is clear it was ordered & shipped with an adapter attached. Either way
I'm thrilled to have this gun as shipped! (I know I have a King front sight installed right now, I can't help myself;) but I do have the original Baughman QD sight)
If anyone else has pictures of their pre-war adapters please post them up!

Not the OP but I'll say it feels "Odd" and not very comfortable. I have medium hands. And the reason I picked one up is that on an Rm I acquired a previous owner had removed the rubber middle section keeping the ears or sides maintaining a thicker grip. This was a more comfortable grip.

I will agree these are not comfortable in my hands either . I will never fire this gun wearing them. I assume this is why the discontinued them so soon.

Glad that one made it to someone here on the forum. I was the penultimate bidder on that one. The rubber spacer is not original, but it is an interesting adaptation. In my experience, the K adapters are less common than the N ones, but usually sell for less. Congrats!!!

Here is the insert flyer for the grip adapter...

... and one of my RMs that shipped with the adapter:

... and a well-worn K-22 Outdoorsman that came to me with an adapter (a gracious forum member gave me a screw for it after they saw these photos) :)

You guys are killing me. I have had RM-1299 for about a month now and got a set of service stocks from Gary (goatsnguns) to replace the post war sharp shoulder magnas it was wearing. The hunt is on to find the Wesson Grip Adapter that it was shipped with. The slightly longer screw, used to accommodate the additional over all thickness, is a must have as well. At least now I have these pictures to stare at in the mean time.

At some point in time, the S&W grip adapter was replicated. Not sure when or by who but copies are about as scarce as originals.

That's a great find bengal fan!

My 8-3/4" REG 108 was originally shipped with a Wesson Grip Adapter, although it was unattached when shipped from the factory…..

And this 4-1/2" matched pair, REG 447 & 448, was originally shipped from the factory with the Wesson Grip Adapters attached…..
