Found me a 2020 Shelby GT500

Never owned a GT 350 or 500 But back in the day you could rent one from Hertz rent a car...on the weekends you would see one or two at the drag strip on weekends. ....

I wonder how many of those at the drag strip were Hertz rentals??:ROFLMAO:

Oh, and speaking of T-Birds when me and Missus Smiff toured the Southwest, we rented a T-Bird in Alburquerque and got our kicks on Route 66.

Never really liked the standard Mustangs and couldn't afford a Shelby. But, around 1987 Acura came out with their performance car and I went to take a look at one. The sales person was a very attractive blonde lady (with short skirt -and nice legs too-noticed those in the test drive) who knew how to show off performance vehicles. Performance was impressive, but when it was my turn to drive I realized it got that performance from short gearing. Lot more revs at 55 than the exes Accord. After considerable thought, I chose something more practical.

Logan got this at Goodwill for $5.

When I was stationed in Orange County, Ca. The "Orange County Register" ran an article on T-Bird 1. It seems a guy bought it from a body shop in O.C. and bought a trashed T-Bird, it was a 1955. He wanted to restore it to original condition. So he contacted Ford to see if he could find out how it left the factory. Ford came back wantting to buy the T-Bird. They went back and forth before Ford finally admitted it was the first T-Bird off the production line. He kept it and restored it, his license plate was T-BIRD 1. https://www.ocregister.com/2009/01/09/first-production-ford-thunderbird-set-for-auction/
