A new Sportsman Warehouse opened in the Jacksonville (Fl) area up by the Airport. Stopped by today just to check it out. Found they had powder, a fair amount and primers too. Got a pound of BULLSEYE for $41.99 and two trays of CCI LP primers for $6.12 each. They limited primer purchase to two trays. The young guy behind the counter told me they are starting to see reloading supplies coming in. Hopefully, good news. I’ll be back there again looking for more supplies.

"Two trays"??? 200 primers? That would be $61.20 a brick. Better than most places. Time to make multiple trips from the parking lot back into the store and buy more.

that's my go-to move, especially if they have multiple check-outs.

but $61.20 a brick is slowly inching down.

My wife, who was with me, told me she’d go back in and buy two more. I told her let’s play by their rules …. for now. I’ll be back there again in a couple of days.

They might be gone by then!

SW has been priced low like for the last few years but with the strict limits. It makes sense, as it gets people to go into the store and allows new reloaders, and people actually out of primers to get supplies if they absolutely need them.

I purchased StaBall for $41 at Sportsmans a couple weeks ago. Those are fairly good primer prices. Still going for $100 at our local gunshow this past weekend. Powder at the show was $40+, up to $75 at one table.

@$61.20/k I think I would have to hit 5 different checkout counters to make it worth the trip. No more than that though, everyone needs a chance to buy some. 1k at a time isn't bad.

Those are good prices, I'm glad to hear it...

Having your wife buy primers is playing by their rules. 200 per person, per day. What she does with them after she leaves the store is her business. This was also told to me by several SW employees at several SW stores. ;)

good to see things coming down

Good for you. That may be about as good as it gets, when the dust all settles.
I was in hope that we might see, $50.00 primers when things returned to normal.
Powder seems to be coming back, but 40 per pound on pistol powder seems to be the going rate, around here... give or take a buck or two.

I bought a good amount of Pistol powder when our local shop what closing up in 2019.
Got a couple of 8 pound jugs of Alliant powders for 100 bucks each jug.
One was green dot, and the other was 2400.
Also picked up 6 or 7 pounds of Unique, in one pound cans for 25 per can.
I have shared some of it with my shooting buddies, that were out or low on supplies.
I should have got more, but I ran out of money, before they ran out of supplies.
My hold up now is S P primers, so I have not been burning much powder.
Myself, like many others would buy 5,000 primers in S. P. size, at the price you quoted.

Not impressed by the price of the powder, although I have not seen Bullseye on a shelf where I am since 2019 or maybe early 2020 at the start of the Covid-19 shutdown. However, the 6 cents per primer is 25% less than the 8 cents that I expect to pay these day :(

Paid $31.for a lb. of W231 just this past Wednesday. The store where I get most of my reloading supplies had most powders and brass on hand . Primers, not so much....

These "rules" have just one purpose. That is to maintain Shortage Thinking. Which leads to higher prices and hoarding behaviors. I flat out refuse to purchase primers by the tray, if I cannot get a full brick I'll go where I can purchase a full brick.

I found large pistol primers by two manufacturers....... at $89.99 per thousand. Pick up in store. I'm not sure I want to drive 80 miles each way to get them, though.
