Golf was invented in Scotland. I'd take it over bagpipes anyday.

I will not say these are better, but ought to be on a best of list, along with your fine items.

1. Scottish Eggs
2. Skye
3. The Highlands
4. Lobster and Chips

Bagpipes, it's either in your blood or you won't get it. I'm predominantly Scottish with some Native American mixed in. So I love them.

Percussion caps, invented by Scottish Presbyterian clergyman Alexander Forsyth

The Romans gave the bagpipes to the Scots and Irish. Italian shepherds used them to communicate in the mountains. I still tear up when I hear the Pipes. My grandparents were Glaswegians. I love the Auld Sod. My favorite? Scones and Scottish shortbread!

I was just about to post something about Scotland. I'm Scottish BTW. A good friend of mine is working over there and about to return back to the states. He called a few nights ago and the conversation of guns came up, of course. He said that the city he is working in has the highest rate of murder in Europe. He walks to work, a twenty minuet walk. He cannot carry even the smallest pocket knife, if he does and gets caught, it's years in the slammer with a hefty fine. Weird, stupid and massively dumb.

Anyway, I drink Scotch and respect the common folks there but disrespect their gov. Lots of relatives buried there.
