S&W 627 Performance Center .357 magnum, 8 shot. I believe this gun started out as a V-Comp model. The barrel must have been shortened slightly, as it no longer accepts a comp. It is Very unique, and I have never seen another one like it. I was told when I bought the gun in 2006 that it had been worked on by Robar, but I have no paperwork or proof of that. What I can say is, this pre-lock revolver has the best trigger I have ever felt on any revolver anywhere, including the tuned Colt Python I used to own. Super smooth and very light. The cylinder holes are chamfered, the front sight is fiber optic and the rear sight blade has been replaced with a Weigand blade to look more like a Bo-Mar. The finish on the gun may be just bead blasted, but it feels very slick and may very well be Robar's NP3, but again I have no proof. I called Robar recently to see if they had any records and they said they don't keep them that far back, and the dealer who sold me the gun wouldn't put me in touch with the person who consigned it through him for privacy reasons.
I have a bunch of factory moon clips as well as a 20 or so Hearthco clips that will go with the gun. A couple of the Hearthcos will need to be straightened. Also, a Ready Tactical custom fit kydex paddle holster, and two Blade-Tech moonclip holders.
I have shot .38 Special and .38 Short Colt reloads exclusively through this revolver, never shooting magnums at all. It is tuned to run with Federal primers, so you will likely have to adjust the springs for factory loads. It performs flawlessly and is very accurate.
