I believe that in making a 1911 fully auto, you press the trigger and it fires till the magazine is spent. There is no control or stop on it. I've been wrong before.
My understanding is it's not that hard to do.

as I understand one version of the mod, it makes it into a select fire sub gun firing from an open bolt
