Fuzzy Farrant Grips

Not too knowledgeable but …. Is that a K frame gun you have them on ? Any chance they could be for an N frame ? Do you have one to check them on?
I believe there are some Fuzzy experts on here who I'm sure will chime in.

Did a quick check, Baxter hit the nail on the head- You've got a set of "N" Frame fuzzies that won't work on a K frame.

There will be some gap between the grips and the frame of any Farrant although the size will vary. They weren't produced to CNC tolerances.

"Fuzzy" fit them to specific frames so the fit will be different on another frame given the usual S&W variation.

Given all that - a K frame Farrant will not fit on an N frame.

I'd like to see the LAPD marking. That would be ... unusual.

If you can, also show a picture of the inletting- it might help.

I've found that a decent sized gap on a set of Farrants is pretty normal regardless of the frame size, but that one does seem pretty large. Maybe it was to allow for bedding them to a particular gun? Anyways, it certainly isn't uncommon in the ones I've come across. Here is a set I have on a Micro modified Colt Army Special, this is what I would consider a normal Farrant gap. Even with this gap, the fit is rock solid. One of the easiest ways to determine if a grip was made by Farrant or Hurst is to check the fit. Hurst grips tend to have a much better fit.

Fit to frame??? Hurst and Farrant look nothing alike.

Early Hogue v. Hurst v. Blackford can sometimes be difficult.

Farrant v. Stark is a big question mark.

The oddest story from OIF2 about Hurst was that one day Hurst was using his own revolver to fit a set of grips, so went on traffic duty with a sock stuck in his holster. I assume that was a flap holster...

I cant really make out the name serial looks like 12909, That was a bit ago.
Only Farrants I have are kind of a target type only have checkering on one side. I will see if I can dig them up.

I've had several sets of Ferrants throughout the years; they all fit like a glove. Don't recall noticing any gap between the grip and frame/knuckle.
